Jackson County Leaders Transform a District
The leadership team of the Jackson County School System in Georgia set out to transform their district. Partnering closely with the O’Briant Group, in just six months a quarter of the staff and faculty were trained in design thinking. With encouragement from leadership, they set out to make JCSS a district where students will be fully prepared for the future.
The O’Briant Group first ran Project Culture Shift, a program that combines design thinking and collaborative vision-setting, with a leadership team from the Central Office as well as some teachers who had expressed an interest in innovation. Later sessions focused on building-level leadership teams.
School by school, classroom by classroom, the mindsets of innovation took root across the district.
